Going Nowhere Fast

Going Nowhere Fast

There’s that classic line when a cop pulls over Sal (I think it's Sal) in On the Road and he says "You boys going to get somewhere? Or just going?" - it's a good question.
The sort of question that references those moments of driving late in the afternoon or early morning when the fog hasn’t lifted or the wind has died down and there’s not much to say between you and your companion or maybe there’s no companion at all and its just driving to silence because you’ve listened to all your music and there’s nothing left to listen to. Then a town, or the sun, pops up and people come back into the world. That’s what these photographs bring back to me- those times when you’re lucky enough not to be going anywhere in particular.
